Hi! I’m Steve!

My desire to see people get unstuck in life has led me into the work of counselling. I believe people often come to therapy when they are carrying questions, transitions, relationships, or responsibilities that feel difficult to hold alone.

As a Counselling Intern, I hope to offer a space where clients can get help, reflect, understand themselves more honestly, and begin to treat themselves with greater compassion. My background in pastoral care and chaplaincy have shaped the way I sit with people in seasons of uncertainty, change, faith concerns, and personal growth.

My Approach To Therapy

My approach to counselling is warm, curious, collaborative, and relational. I believe people often come to therapy when they feel stuck, conflicted, uncertain, or in need of support as they work through life’s challenges. My goal is to help clients find safety in the counselling process, understand themselves more honestly, and grow in confidence as they move toward clarity and meaningful change. I ask thoughtful questions, listen closely, and help clients explore patterns in their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and choices. I also welcome conversations around faith and spirituality when clients want to include that in their work.

What to Expect in Sessions

Everyone has unique life experiences and, therefore, deserves a personalized therapy experience that suits their needs. In our sessions together, you can expect to set achievable goals aligned with your personalized journey, explore your emotions, discuss coping strategies, and learn practical skills to help you navigate personal challenges. I aim to create sessions that foster insight, self-compassion and meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you. As the expert of your own life and experiences, aim to take a person-centred approach to our sessions.

A Little About Me!

How I Want You to Feel After a Session

Two young men sitting outdoors near a body of water, laughing and enjoying each other's company during autumn with yellow and orange leaves in the background.

I hope you leave each session feeling genuinely understood, listened to, and a little less alone in what you’re carrying. Even if everything isn’t figured out yet, my hope is that you walk away with greater clarity, confidence, and a sense of direction for the next step in front of you.

I want our sessions to give you space to slow down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and reconnect with what matters most to you. Most importantly, I hope you leave feeling supported and reminded that meaningful change can begin with one small step forward.
