"You are imperfect, you are wired for struggle, but you are worthy of love and belonging." Brené Brown

Hi! I’m Shannon!

I believe healing begins when people feel truly seen, heard, and accepted without judgment. My journey into counselling has been shaped by both professional experience and life’s unexpected challenges. Through supporting neurodivergent individuals and families, navigating my own breast cancer journey, raising two incredible sons, and walking alongside people through grief, trauma, and life transitions, I’ve learned that resilience isn’t about never struggling, it’s about finding the courage to keep moving forward. I strive to create a space where clients can show up exactly as they are, knowing they don’t have to carry life’s burdens alone.

My Approach To Therapy

I believe every person already possesses strengths that can become the foundation for healing and growth. My role isn't to tell clients what to do, but to walk alongside them with curiosity, compassion, and respect as they discover what matters most to them. I integrate evidence-based approaches while recognizing that no two people are alike. Therapy with me is collaborative, practical, and grounded in the belief that lasting change happens when clients feel emotionally safe, understood, and empowered to move toward a life that aligns with their values. My approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and holistic, honouring the connection between mind, body, and emotions.

What to Expect in Sessions

Every session is tailored to you. Together we'll explore what's bringing you in, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and build on your strengths while developing practical tools for everyday life. I use curiosity, reflection, gentle challenge, mindfulness, and evidence-based interventions to help clients move toward meaningful change. My sessions are relaxed, collaborative, and grounded in authenticity, with room for both difficult conversations and moments of humour. I fully appreciate corny jokes!

A Little About Me!

How I Want You to Feel After a Session

A woman with long dark hair, smiling and looking to her left, sitting at a wooden table holding a tablet. She is wearing a beige sweater, in a room with a dark, textured wall background.

Clients often describe me as warm, genuine, and easy to talk to. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe enough to be honest, challenged enough to grow, and supported enough to discover your own strengths along the way.

I hope clients leave our sessions feeling truly seen and heard, with a little more clarity, self-compassion, and confidence than when they arrived. My goal is for you to walk away feeling more grounded, connected to yourself, and equipped to navigate whatever comes next.
