Hi! I’m Sapna!
Welcome! I recognize that it takes courage to share your story, and I deeply respect the trust that comes with that. I approach each client with curiosity, compassion, and without judgment, striving to create a safe and supportive space where you feel seen, heard, and encouraged throughout your journey. I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I am an EMDR and IFS trained therapist. My work is trauma-informed, my goal is to I prioritize safety, pacing, and choice throughout the therapeutic process.
My counselling style is warm, open, and collaborative. I am committed to fostering a strong therapeutic relationship and tailoring our work together to meet your unique needs. I use an integrative, evidence-based approach, drawing from a range of therapeutic modalities to best support your goals. I believe that healing involves both addressing present challenges and working through the impact of past experiences. Together, we can explore ways to reduce current distress while gently processing what may still be held in your mind and body.
My Approach To Therapy
My approach is grounded in creating a supportive environment, building a therapeutic space where you can show up just as you are, without feeling judged or needing to have everything figured out. You deserve to be seen as a whole person, with your own story, experiences, culture, challenges, and strengths.
-
CBT focuses on understanding how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact, and how these interactions can sometimes lead to unhelpful patterns or negative thinking. CBT also emphasizes examining and challenging different beliefs to foster positive change.
-
Solution-Focused Therapy is a goal-oriented approach that addresses current challenges and works to create practical solutions tailored to your lifestyle. Together, we will collaborate to develop solutions, focusing on actionable steps rather than solely on problems.
-
DBT combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness strategies to help manage emotions, improve interpersonal relationships, and tolerate distress. In therapy, we will work together to build skills in areas like emotion regulation and acceptance, while helping you navigate difficult situations and strengthen your overall resilience.
-
Narrative therapy views you as the expert of your own life. We will separate you from the problem and explore how certain stories may be influencing your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we will co-author new, more empowering narratives that align with your values and goals.
What to Expect in Sessions
Every person's story is different, which is why I adapt my approach to fit your individual needs and strengths. I draw from internal family systems therapy, and attachment-based work tailoring each session to what feels most helpful for you. Whether you're healing from past experiences, trauma, navigating life's challenges, or hoping to build healthier, more fulfilling relationships, we'll work together at a pace that feels right for you.

How I Want You to Feel After a Session
After each session, I want my clients to leave feeling heard, supported, and relieved as if they can take a big breath and release some of the burden they've been bearing. Similar to the sensation of being with someone who genuinely understands and values you, I hope that sessions bring clarity and comfort!
